Brotherhood of St. Andrew
A year in Review
Your Brotherhood Chapter was extremely busy in 2017. We were led by Vice Director Larry Bailey, Treasurer Jason McManus, Communication Director David Moller, Chaplain Nate Hyde, and Director Joe Francis.
Here are a few of the activities from this past year- exemplifying our disciplines of Prayer, Study, and Service
This year, we added Morning Prayer to every one of our semi-monthly meetings. We have also added a reflection time in our meetings when we ask our Brothers for prayers for friends and family. We have prayed – out loud – for many of you in our parish family.
This past year, we participated in two very interesting, and well-received video bible programs – the 9-session “Stepping Up”, and Rick Warren’s 8-session “You Make Me Crazy”. We also studied the Book of Titus, as well as a short session on Creation, The Fall, Redemption, and Recreation.
Our activities included:
BOSA Christmas party and gift exchange
Bill Brown annual scholarship to a deserving High School Senior (this year’s recipient was William Meshack)
High School Senior Dinner
2017 Men’s Conference sponsor
Spring and Fall camping trips
Color Me Irish fund raiser for The Ulster Project
Memorial Day brisket fund raiser
Grounds clean-up day
Cook and serve Arlington Life Shelter dinner for 100
First ever CoEd BOSA Meeting
Legal Draft tour
Family Bowling with Special Olympics team
July 4th Parish cookout
Cooked hotdogs for 300 people at Trunk or Treat
Provided altar and lecterns for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Building and property maintenance
Provided drinks for Stewardship Dinner
The Brotherhood meets the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Every man in the parish is warmly invited and encouraged to attend. Please come see what we’re all about!
We are in the planning stages right now for next year. Come be a part of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew!
